Nurturing Curiosity in a Community for All

At Brock ELC, we nurture the whole child through play-based learning, meaningful relationships, and a deep commitment to inclusion – creating a warm, engaging environment where every child and family truly belongs.

Growing Together Since 1980

For over forty years, Brock Early Learning Centre has proudly served in Toronto’s West end, nestled in the heart of the Little Portugal neighbourhood, caring for children and connecting with families. We have watched many children grow from toddlers to school-age during their time with us. While our teaching practices have evolved over time, our commitment to providing warm, thoughtful care remains the same. We have built strong relationships with local families, schools, and community groups that help support the children in our care. When you join Brock ELC, you become part of our community story.

Rooted in Community

Not just in the neighbourhood – part of it. Serving primarily local families creates a tightly woven, deeply rooted community where relationships grow naturally, and families connect beyond our walls. Children and parents often see familiar faces at local parks and events, helping foster a sense of community.

Play-Based Learning

Following Ontario’s “How Does Learning Happen?” pedagogy, we believe that children learn best through play and exploration. Our educators thoughtfully create environments and experiences that spark curiosity, build skills, and honour each child’s unique way of understanding the world. This approach nurtures not just academic readiness, but the joy of discovery that creates lifelong learners.

Nutritious Meals

Healthy food nourishes growing bodies and minds, which is why we partner with Yummy Catering to provide delicious, balanced meals and snacks. Shared mealtimes become opportunities for conversation, developing self-help skills, and building community. Families appreciate knowing their children are well-fed with quality foods throughout their busy day.
